Nuno Viegas Gonçalves

Nuno Viegas Gonçalves graduated in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra in 2011, having commenced his studies in 2007. He subsequently completed postgraduate studies in Forensic Legal Sciences in 2012/2013. He completed his legal traineeship between 2013 and 2015 and has been a lawyer and member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 2015 (Professional ID No. 54616-F). Nuno has been working with Tavira Lawyers since January 2018, advising Portuguese and international clients on a wide range of legal matters. Since 2025, he has served as a Delegate at the Tavira Branch of the Portuguese Bar Association. His main areas of practice include Real Estate Law, Conveyancing, Business and Corporate Law, Urban Planning Law, Civil Law and Family Law. He has particular experience in property transactions, including due diligence, the preparation and authentication of Private Documents Authenticated by a lawyer (Documentos Particulares Autenticados – DPA), and the registration of property transactions. He has extensive experience in the preparation and authentication of DPAs for property purchases and sales. A DPA provides an alternative to a public deed for the completion of a property transaction, with the final legal effects of the transaction, including the transfer of ownership, followed by the registration of the new ownership at the Land Registry. Nuno assists clients throughout the property transaction process, including the verification of title, encumbrances and relevant property documentation, rights of preference, preparation and authentication of transaction documents, and the subsequent registration of the acquisition.
